Transforming a static data table into an intuitive, visual dashboard that empowers users to spot trends, save time, and make faster decisions.


The Problem: Old Performance Dashboard
This was the original dashboard for the Acorns Chrome Extension. Despite showing valuable data, it was:

Unintuitive: Users had trouble navigating the interface and locating the insights they needed.

Not Visual: All information was presented in raw tables with no charts or trend indicators.

Time-Consuming: Users had to export data and manually create their own graphs to track performance over time.

The Solution: Insightful, Visual, and User-Centered Redesign

To address the core usability issues, I redesigned the performance dashboard with a focus on clarity, trend visibility, and customization. Here’s what changed:

Data Visualization: Introduced a “Commissions Over Time” line graph so users can quickly spot patterns and fluctuations—eliminating the need to export data just to see trends.

At-a-Glance Metrics: Added clear, color-coded KPIs at the top (Installs, Orders, Clicks, etc.) with percentage change indicators to highlight performance shifts instantly.

Custom Date Filter: Integrated a date range selector for flexible time-based analysis, giving users control over what period they’re viewing.

Table Enhancements: The data table is now more readable and lets users edit columns, prioritizing what matters most to them.

Balance of Power: While visualizations improved clarity, power users still have access to raw data through an updated export option.

Result: A dashboard that’s not just prettier, but dramatically more usable. It supports both quick insights and deeper analysis without forcing users to do extra work.
